Friday Freebie! I will catch up!! :D

Woohoo!! So I woke up this morning to awesome news, which is that I made it to the second round of the Designer Contest at theStudio!! So, I'm pretty excited, especially since that little kit I made is the first thing I've designed in CS6... Now, I have to get cracking on my kit for next week, which is to be much bigger than the one for last week! So, that's a big YAY for you because it means an external force will be forcing me to get my freebies done, and you know that it will be posted before Wednesday night, which is not to shabby for a Tuesday freebie these days, lol...

Anyhow, I have also been making scrapbook pages in my CS6. I'm trying to tackle one job at a time and getting it all set up how I like it for each of the different tasks I do regularly! I used Notes In Class to scrap a picture I took of my daughter Rachel the other day, when she had her appointment for senior photos. I can't believe she is a senior this year, the time has just passed so quickly!!

CS6 has a very cool png compression option, which means that this quickpage file came out smaller in MB than some that come before it. But, don't worry, it's still the same pixel and inches size as the others and should print beautifully!!

Your Tuesday Freebie, lol...

So, as you may or may not know, my husband recently (like over the weekend recently) built me a new computer. It has upgrades in a LOT of programs, including the operating system and in my Photoshop as well as Illustrator and ACDSee... This has left me in an interesting situation because I know how to do a lot of things with these programs, but I also have no idea how to work within the confines of the new systems in any way that they have made changes to them. Needless to say, I've been bumbling around with it.

I wanted to join the design contest at the Studio, it looked like fun. The only scary part is that the deadline was super fast after the challenge was posted. It was posted on the 1st of September, with entries due at midnight, EST on the 5th. That's not a lot of time anyway, and then to add I didn't know how to get around on my new rig... Well, it was slower process than I would have figured.

But, I did it!! I got my piece done!! And, here it is for you to enjoy:


Contest rules say I am only allowed to put the link in the gallery where the preview is posted!! So, CLICK HERE TO HEAD ON OVER TO MY PREVIEW to grab the download! It's still a direct download for you! I've been enjoying looking at and downloading all the other entries! I'm finished with the first two pages and all the links are working like a charm. A few are direct downloads but the rest are 4shared, mediafire, and box... But, those sites are all cooperating nicely with me today, and I've been able to get all the pieces on the first two pages so far! I'll be getting the rest before the links go away too.

Contest requirement is that the links stay up until Sept 9, but the request is that they be up for all of September. So, I'll leave mine up for you to grab it any time!! :D

Melissa's Collab & Competition Week 3!

Did you see this? This is a collab a bunch of designers got together to make to help out Melissa who was in a really bad car crash, and is a designer at Digital Candy!! It's super cute!! So, since I was so sick last week, I got a little behind in the competition. Here's my kit for week 3 though, finally!! I like how it turned out, but I don't know how cohesive it all is, lol... I was going to use the other color palette but it seemed like most of the people did, and I didn't want to throw another log on an already raging fire. Plus, the idea I got for Lipstick Jungle was all these jungle animals with big lipstick lips, and I was having trouble bringing that to life. Looking back, it might have been all the meds I was on so that I could get well, LOL...

So, I made a Spring Thing instead! I love all the pieces of this kit, although, I don't know if I love them all together. I'd really like to see some layouts done with it. Maybe that will help me like it more... So, first 3 people to send me a layout done with any of these pieces will get a $5 coupon to my store!! :D If there's a lot, I'll choose a couple more out of the ones who aren't first too!! :D

Also, I bought Flergs' alpha maker so you can bet I'll be making more alphas!! I love them, and I love this action to make them!! WAHOO!! :D It was expensive but worth every penny!!

ADSR is over :( and I'm behind on my baby book challenge. Hopefully I can get it done this weekend. OH!! And, Rachel got braces! So, you can expect a brace face kit from me sometime soon!! :D I have to make something to scrap her orthodontist pictures with!! :D

Spazola!! A BANNER DAY!!

So, this has been an all around fantabulous day!!

I realized that I never told you guys (however many of you there may or may not be, lol) that I FINISHED the scrap 4 hire job!! :D Today, I finished printing the last 10 pages, So, I just have to trim them and collect dollars for them, lol... Best news on that front is that I have another Scrap 4 Hire job lined up! I met with the client last week, and I need to get started scanning pictures for Bianca's Book!

And, I found out this morning, right after I woke up that I WON the NDIDDS Contest!! :D I'm so totally stoked and I'm going to be super busy creating products to populate my Scrapbooking Store at Designs In Digital!! Woohoo!!

I was so excited, I got out my Henna Henna Bo Benna Kit and made a banner to advertise my store! It's pretty crazy with the animation, so I might make a smaller version tomorrow, but for now, I thought I'd be all premature and post it here!

Of course I don't have a store there yet, so, it's linked to nowhere, lol...

It's my week for the design club, but I have no ideas whatsoever, so I don't know what I'm going to do about that, lol...

Oh!! Yesterday, I ordered some free stuff from ArtsCow!! Their free is like Vista Print's Free where you pay so much for shipping that it wasn't really free but it was still really super cheap!! I can't wait to see the stuff I got, the things I ordered are to be samples for my Scrap 4 Hire Business, so I'm super excited to see how it all turns out! I ordered an 8x8 book, drink coasters, and a mousepad, all designed with my Scrap 4 Hire pages, so people could see some of their choices of what to do with stuff once I have scrapped it for them!! I met with another customer today for another book, but not as much of a rush job on that one, so that is good! Bad news for me is that I'm going to have to scan most of the pictures, because they are all pictures... That can take forever, I'm sure you understand!

Okie Dokie, Here I go!! I hope you are all strapped in for the long haul cuz I'm a long winded chick, lol...

7 Facts about me, some random, some weird...
1. I once took a week and a half and convinced all my friends that I was twins. I did it like this... On Thursday and Friday, I told my friends I was going to visit my biological father (who in fact at that time I had not met since I had been old enough to remember), so if I seemed like I didn't know what was going on Monday, could they please help me out, cuz my twin sister would actually be going to my classes for me. The story was that since my parents weren't together, they each took one of us when they split (Parent Trap Inspired!!). Of course, my mom was married to my step dad but she had never told him that I was twins, so it was a big secret... Because she didn't want to get in a fight with my step dad about it, she just continued to not tell him about it and for one or two weeks a year, we just swapped places so we could see the opposite parent that we didn't live with. SO, on Monday, I pretended to forget some things we had talked about the week before, and I went the wrong direction for one or two of my classes... By the time Friday rolled around, I had almost all of them convinced I was not myself! The next Monday, I came to school and was "myself" again... I couldn't believe how many of them the trick had worked on... I fessed up to most of them... But, a year or two later, a friend called and started talking about something we had talked about at school but I had forgotten... I said, "What are you talking about?" and he said, "Is this Sasha? When is Sarah coming back?" I almost fell off the bed... He still thought I was twins, lol...

2. I didn't have my first drink of alcohol until I was 25 and I can still count on my fingers how many times in my life I've drank alcohol... Just wasn't ever my thing.

3. In my ever continuing quest to convince my father I was just as good as a son, I took up the trombone in 5th grade and played it all of 5th and 6th grades before I gave it up for something more cool, I can't remember what, lol...

4. When my step daughter turned 21, I took her to a club/bar to see "exotic" dancers. It was one of the times I can count on my fingers, lol... My mom took me when I turned 18, so I figured Ashley was overdue, lol...

5. I dye my hair religiously. If I see a glint of glitter (grey hair), I dye it. I used to go back and forth from my summer color to my winter color, but now I hardly ever dye it the same color twice in a row... People who know me don't even respond to my drastic hair color changes anymore... Last week, it was black cherry. This week, it's roasted coffee, who knows what color it will be next month, lol...

6. I have a super hot baby daddy, lol... When I was young, I wasn't bad looking, and my boyfriend was super hot... Well, now I am not that hot anymore cuz I need to go on a diet in a major way, lol... BUT, those men, I think it is easier for them to still look good after kids, especially if, like my baby daddy, they haven't had to spend 24 hours a day for 13 years taking of them. SO, even 3 more kids later, he still looks pretty good. When all my friends with baby daddy's get together and we compare who's is the hottest, mine wins!! :D lol...

7. I'm funny. I feel conceited when I say that but it's true... I don't do it on purpose always but I'm funny. I write funny stuff and say funny things. At family reunions, all the talented people get up and sing or dance or play their instruments for the talent show. This year, I embraced my funniness and I stood up and told 2 stories of funny things that have happened to me. I think some of the people in the audience were really happy for depends that day!! :O And, at least one person almost fell out of their chair. My husband is trying to get me to do stand up comedy as a job. He thinks I'll make enough money doing comedy that he can stay home and be a man of leisure playing with computers...(Hey, that's my job!) I'm a little chicken but I figure I might at least give it a shot...

So, next, I'm supposed to list who I'm gonna tag... The problem is I don't have a lot of friends... SO, I'm gonna have to go dig some up... I'll come back with their links a few minutes!!

Progress on Scrap For Hire Job: 10 of 20 pages completed!! :D I'm actually feeling quite accomplished for having finished that many pages of the project in the midst of planning my daughter's party, which went really well... I'm going to finish the rest of the pages next week. I delivered the completed pages today in 8x8 format for her to give to her husband, I'm looking forward to getting the others done!!

HOLY Canoli!!

So, I'm spazzing out, because my Traveling Man Freebie is the Number 2 product at Designs In Digital!! :D That is good stuff!! I'm moving up in the world!!

The last time our numbers were posted I was in 6th place in the contest, but Traveling Man being the number 2 product means I am leading for this week, which is groovy!!

A Sneak Peek!!

Well!! On the off chance that anyone is reading this thing, and is interested or wondering what I am going to do for week 4 in the midst of my major creative craziness... I hit a major slump today, I couldn't design anything, it was horrible!! I had to go to Stampendous and pick up some gallon cans for Candy Cuteness so at least I did have one thing I could get done without trying to design something...

SO, I went to Stampendous, got the cans, came back, went to the paper store for a box and some bubble wrap. Still wasn't feeling very "designy"... But, in the parking lot as we were waiting for traffic to clear, what happens but an EARTHQUAKE!! It felt like two football players hopped on the back bumper of the car and started jumping up and down. It was very exciting!

Still, I wasn't feeling very "designy" so we went and hung out with Donna (our friend from church) at Woody's Do It Yourself Doggie Wash (she owns it)! It was SUPER FUN!! And, we stayed ALL AFTERNOON!! oops. So, we picked up Rachel, bought all kinds of inspirational foods at the grocery store, gorged ourselves on taquitos, guacamole, and tuxedo cake while watching Greys on DVD and then The Secret Life of the American Teenager (JUST TELL YOUR PARENTS ALREADY FOR HEAVENS SAKE!!)...

And, then I felt "designy" so here it is, a sneak peek at what I'm doing for week 4 of the contest, lol...


WOW!! That was a lot of explanation for such a small peek, huh?? LOL

S4Hire Job Progress finished 0 pages out of 20 tomorrow is going to be a very busy day!! It's my week to design Wrappers for the AliSarah Design Club, lol... Yep Busy Busy Day ahead!!
