Friday Freebie! I will catch up!! :D

Woohoo!! So I woke up this morning to awesome news, which is that I made it to the second round of the Designer Contest at theStudio!! So, I'm pretty excited, especially since that little kit I made is the first thing I've designed in CS6... Now, I have to get cracking on my kit for next week, which is to be much bigger than the one for last week! So, that's a big YAY for you because it means an external force will be forcing me to get my freebies done, and you know that it will be posted before Wednesday night, which is not to shabby for a Tuesday freebie these days, lol...

Anyhow, I have also been making scrapbook pages in my CS6. I'm trying to tackle one job at a time and getting it all set up how I like it for each of the different tasks I do regularly! I used Notes In Class to scrap a picture I took of my daughter Rachel the other day, when she had her appointment for senior photos. I can't believe she is a senior this year, the time has just passed so quickly!!

CS6 has a very cool png compression option, which means that this quickpage file came out smaller in MB than some that come before it. But, don't worry, it's still the same pixel and inches size as the others and should print beautifully!!

Vacation Blogging is always late, lol...

So, I'm on vacation, visiting my in-laws in beautiful Sacramento, CA... The weather is HOT but they have air conditioning and so does almost every place we've been since we got here. Where we live, the weather is not as hot as it is here, because we live near the beach. But, since we are so close to the beach, nobody has air conditioning in their houses, and you have to go to the mall for the A/C when it gets warm, which is about 5 days a year, lol... SO, it's kind of weird to us to be so hot, but we are having a good time.

We drove up here and found a lot of cool places on the drive, so that a drive which takes 6-7 hours ended up taking us almost 11, lol... My favorite place was the Cheese Factory, which was near to Fresno. They had 6 kinds of cheese out for us to try, a kitchen surrounded by windows where had we been there at the right time, we could have seen them making cheese (something I would have enjoyed immensely), a ton of cheeses for us to buy (I picked garlic jack and it is YUMMY!!), and all kinds of kitschy gift type items, of which we bought one for my Father in Law's birthday, and then it fell out of the back of the car and broke into 3 pieces, but hubby thinks he'll still be able to hang it... We'll have to see on that one. I was quite disappointed.

Anyhow, I brought all the preview and freebie links with me so you won't have to miss out on freebies even though we are off gallivanting. We are planning some fun stuff while we are here, mostly spending time with family and looking at colleges for Rachel. She's narrowed it down to 13 choices, but of course it will have to slim down even more eventually!!

I made a layout with this kit, which I love. It is of my two daughters, one is Rachel and the other is Ashley, who is my step daughter from my first marriage. This photo was taken right around when Ashley moved in with us. It was fun for Rachel to have a live in our house sister, and we had gone to a concert of Bryan Duncan, who is a great singer.

It's still Tuesday, right??

Well, probably not really... I'm starting to type this at 11:56, so the likelihood of me finishing the whole thing before midnight is pretty slim!! Again with the excuses, right?? We are going on vacation starting Thursday, so I was running around like a wild woman running errands today. I got the dogs shots, a haircut, picked up snacks for the drive, and got a haircut. Which doesn't sound like it should take too long, but believe me, it did!! :D

p.s. Did you see The Amazing Spiderman? Even though I have a philosophical issue with remaking movies that don't really need to be remade, I enjoyed it! And, the teaser at the end made me disappointed that the next one won't be here for a very long time :(
